Photography Style & Approach

How would you describe your photography style?

My approach blends documentary observation with refined editorial wedding photography. I focus on candid moments as they unfold, creating images that feel natural, personal, and true to the atmosphere of the day.

I work primarily with natural light to preserve the feeling of the scene. In low light, I use soft, diffused flash so the photographs remain natural and unobtrusive.

Shallow depth of field, bokeh, and lens flares are often elements in my imagery. My work often draws from nature and vintage spaces, bringing a quiet sense of nostalgia to the frame.

During sessions, I offer light direction when needed while allowing moments to develop naturally. The result is a balance of relaxed portraits and documentary-style imagery that reflects genuine connection and personality.

How would you describe your editing style?

My editing style is influenced by cinematic and vintage aesthetics, drawing from dark academia, classic Hollywood, and nostalgia of the 1960s and ’70s.

I work with warm tones, gentle highlights, and subtle texture to shape images that feel grounded and editorial without losing the natural feeling of the moment.

Each frame is guided by light, atmosphere, and human connection. The intention is to preserve the emotion of the moment with care so the photographs continue to feel present and alive over time.

Do you shoot digitally?

I photograph with a full frame mirrorless digital camera. The images are captured as RAW files and then carefully edited and delivered as JPEGs.

Recently I’ve also been experimenting with analog film. It’s something I’m excited to explore further, and I hope to begin incorporating film into my packages in the future.

The Wedding Day

How does the assistant photographer add-on work?

You can add a second photographer to any wedding package if you’d like additional coverage.

This can be helpful during moments like getting ready, the ceremony, or cocktail hour, where multiple spaces and angles are unfolding at the same time. While I focus on the primary moments, the second photographer captures alternate perspectives and details.

All of the images are edited in the same style and delivered together in your final gallery.

Do you carry backup equipment?

Yes. I always carry a backup camera and lenses to ensure I can keep shooting, even in the rare case of equipment failure.

What happens if you're unavailable on my wedding day?

This has never happened, but in the unlikely event that I were unable to attend due to an emergency, I would arrange a trusted photographer from my network to step in. They would be someone whose approach and style align closely with my own.

Can we provide a shot list?

Definitely! I send a pre-wedding questionnaire that includes a space for your must-have shots. You’re welcome to add custom requests.

We’re camera shy—will you help pose us?

Yes! Most of my clients are a bit camera shy. I offer light, natural direction and use prompts to make you feel comfortable while capturing genuine, flattering moments.

Can we bring our pet to a session?

Yes, pets are more than welcome! I recommend bringing a handler to care for them between shots so you can relax and enjoy the session.

Booking & Payments

How much is the deposit, and when is it due?

A 25% deposit is required upon booking to reserve your date. The remaining 75% is due when your final gallery is ready for delivery.

What’s included in your wedding packages?

All packages include high-resolution, print-ready digital files, a personalized gallery, light retouching, timeline consultation, and sneak peeks within 72 hours. Engagement sessions are included with wedding packages of 6 hours or more. Assistant coverage is available as an add-on.

Do I pay the assistant photographer separately?

No, all payments go through me. If you choose the assistant add-on, I coordinate with my team and handle their payment directly.

Do you charge a travel fee?

Travel within the Ottawa/Gatineau area is free. For locations outside of city limits, travel fees apply and are calculated based on kilometres.

Photo Editing & Delivery

How long until we receive our photos?

  • Sneak Peeks are delivered within 72 hours.

  • Engagements/Elopements: 4-6 weeks.

  • Full Wedding Days: 6–10 weeks, depending on coverage hours and the season.
I take time to edit carefully and deliver a gallery that’s polished, personal, and meaningful.

How many photos should I expect to get back?

I work with an intentional approach of photographing generously throughout the day so the small moments are never missed. Expressions shift quickly at weddings, and capturing those subtle changes allows the story of the day to unfold naturally.

I typically photograph around 1,000 frames per hour. From there, I carefully review and curate the strongest images based on sharpness, emotion, and composition.

The final gallery usually includes about 60 to 120 fully edited photographs per hour. For an eight hour wedding, that may result in a gallery of around 800 polished images that reflect the atmosphere and story of the day.

How will we receive our photos?

Your photos are delivered in an online gallery where you can view, download, and share your images easily. All files are high-resolution and ready to print.

Do you provide retouching or colour adjustments?

Yes. Every photograph is carefully colour graded and includes light, natural retouching.

This may include softening skin tones, removing small blemishes, or cleaning up minor distractions so the image feels polished while still looking natural.

If you have a specific request, I’m always happy to make reasonable adjustments to ensure you love your final gallery.

Do you offer physical prints or albums?

Not at this time. I provide high-resolution, print-ready digital files so you have full freedom to print, share, and preserve your images however you'd like.

General Information

Why the name “Retro Radiance”?

Retro Radiance reflects my love for vintage aesthetics and the quiet beauty found in older visual styles. It speaks to the heart of my artistic approach, where nostalgic influences meet a clean, modern sensibility.

The guiding idea behind the work is “Vintage style, modern elegance.” It shapes how I photograph weddings, with the goal of creating an album that feels thoughtful, personal, and deeply meaningful to return to over time.

Why did you choose wedding photography?

I love the sense of romance, the small moments of glamour, and the unfolding story that comes with every wedding day. It’s a privilege to document those moments as they naturally happen.
